A safe and good working environment is equally important for the company and the employees. Therefore we cannot accept that anyone in our company is seriously injured on the job. We also have proof that investing in safety and a good working environment delivers bottom line results. So there is no reason to rest on our laurels in this area.

 

Labour rights

Hydro has endorsed the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the Global Compact and the ILO conventions and thereby pledged, among other things, to support the right of employees to organize themselves and to not accept child labor.

Employee relations

"It's rare that we disagree with the other board members and management, but when it happens, it is often regarding issues that are particularly important for the employees. Then we use our influence," says Billy Fredagsvik.

Work environment

The statistics every year show that the trend is moving in the right direction. Yet in 2010, Hydro failed to reduce the number of accidents.
